A large antique tractor wheel strike with plenty of industrial and agricultural character. Now offered as a decorative piece, it would make an impressive garden feature, display item or prop. Similar examples were fitted to early tractors, including Fordson models, before the widespread adoption of pneumatic tyres.

Dating from the early to mid-20th century, this heavy-duty wheel was designed to provide maximum traction in demanding conditions. The outer rim is fitted with substantial angled lugs or cleats which bite into loose soil, mud and clay, preventing the tractor from losing grip while pulling ploughs and other implements.

Heavy flat spokes extend from the centre in an angled pattern, helping to absorb the twisting forces generated by the engine and providing exceptional strength. At the centre sits a robust five-pointed star-shaped mounting plate where the wheel would have been secured to the tractor axle.

Displaying honest wear and a naturally weathered patina, this wheel strike retains the rugged appearance that made these early agricultural wheels so distinctive.
